Jolyon founded Ciptex in 2006 after spending several years in the Contact Centre technology area. Previously, he spent two years at Blue Square, part of Rank Group, where he was the Customer Contact Director, responsible for building, developing and running their contact centre. Jolyon managed the transition of the contact centre during Blue Square’s acquisition by the Rank Group. He implemented the UK’s first voice betting service and the first web enabled contact centre.
Prior to joining Blue Square, Jolyon spent 8 years with Accenture where he built and operated contact centres for blue chip organisations such as BT and Alliance & Leicester (now part of Santander).
Jolyon is an active member of the Worshipful Company of Information Technologists where he advises leading UK Arts organisations with their IT. He has presented on Hosted IP Contact Centres at industry conferences in the UK, Belgium and Canada. Jolyon holds a Masters Degree in Information Technology from Glasgow University.
Richard Hopkins (CTO)
Richard Hopkins has over 20 years’ experience of business development, systems design and successful delivery of IT projects in telecoms, call centres, IVR and DRTV market sectors. Clients include Barclays, Capita, Northcliffe Group, Trinity Mirror, IPC Media, Emap, BT, Index, NTL, Norwich Union, BBC, Amex and Comet Group.
He is experienced in Programme Management of technology integration and rationalisation, billing and MIS systems design. In addition to Ciptex’s managed services, Richard has designed, deployed and managed large scale 24×7 voice services handling millions of call minutes a month using Nortel Speech Server (Periphonics), Telsis and C3. In similar environments, Richard has built an IT team of 40+ technical staff including project managers, developers and support staff.
Matt Winckless (Solution Architect)
Matt has built a reputation as one of the UK’s leading network communications experts. Matt designed and implemented one of the UK’s first large scale VoIP systems for the RSPCA, designed to support 1500 users. In 2003 he implemented what was then Europe’s largest VoIP Network for Surrey County Council and supporting 8,500 users. The system remains one of the UK’s largest to this day.
Since then, Matt has provided expertise for a variety of businesses including large corporations, local authorities and not-for-profit organisations. He is a regular conference speaker.

Phil van Tenac is the Chairman of Ciptex and of Sabre Telecommunications. He brings over 20 years experience in the business communications industry. He has founded and grown several communications companies including Sabre, UsedTelecoms and RouteTrader, who operate from enterprise to carrier level. His entrepreneurial skills and industry contacts bring access to a network of related businesses.
Ray Dogra (CCO)
Ray Dogra is Ciptex’s Commercial Director. Ray spent 17 years at Accenture, where he was a Partner in the Communications & Hi-Tech Practice. He has experience of working with telecommunications and media companies across the globe including BT, Virgin Media, BSkyB, Cable & Wireless, Telstra, Telecom Italia, Singtel, Reliance, Deutsche Telecom, Telenor and many others.
He has experience of working at Board Level with large and small companies. He founded and launched a text messaging business and works with other hi-technology ventures to help them grow and scale. Ray holds a MA in Engineering from Cambridge University.
Neil Barnett (CFO)
Neil has over 17 years’ experience working within the Telecoms and Media sector in both commercial and financial roles. During his career he has successfully overseen a significant number of fund raises, mergers & acquisitions as well as management buy outs.
Neil, a qualified Chartered Management Accountant, started in Telecoms selling RF and Satcom products. He was recruited as Chief Financial Officer for a major subsidiary of Eastman Kodak, building a digital post production company from start-up phase that eventually became the 4th largest special effects facility in the world. In his following start-up entrepreneurial company he was instrumental in raising circa £300m in debt and equity funding. As the Chief Financial Officer for a PLC company in the media industry, Neil was instrumental in restructuring the facility turning it into a profitable business. Working back in the Telecoms industry Neil bring much expertise to the role.
